HAVE News & Press Releases

(Hudson, NY) HAVE, Inc. just finished a CD replication project to go along with the publication of the hit book, "Go, Tell Michelle: African American Women Write to the New First Lady"

Go Tell Michelle Audiobook on CDHAVE recieved a flash drive with more than 7 hours of audio recording. In preparation for creating CD masters, HAVE cleaned the audio, indexed all the letters, and produced the 6 CD Masters. Along with the replication of the resulting program, HAVE handled and printed the outside covers, and assembled the final 6 CD set.

Passionate, shattering, and tender, this astonishing audiobook gathers together letters to Michelle Obama, written by African American and African women. Responding to a call from the Uncrowned Queens Institute in Buffalo, New York, hundreds of African American women shared their hopes, fears, and advice with the First Lady. Their letters and poems signal an unprecedented moment in our nation's history and a remarkable opportunity for African American women to look at the White House and see and speak to one of their own there.

This audiobook, read by the editors, is both unabridged and expanded. It contains all of the wonderfully personal and evocative letters and poems found in the original book. It also features ten new letters to Michelle Obama, plus a never before seen or heard introduction by the editors.

Editors Barbara A. Seals Nevergold and Peggy Brooks-Bertram are recipients of the 2009 New York State Women of Excellence Award in Education. They are co-founders of the Uncrowned Queens Institute for Research and Education on Women, Inc. at the University at Buffalo, State University of New York.

Produced and directed by WBFO in Buffalo, New York.
